Meet Jim Castles, Business Development Manager

21 April, 2022

Jim has been the Business Development Manager at Medianet since 2021.

Can you give a brief outline of your background and career so far?IMG_0841

I've spent more than 25 years in media spanning traditional media (print, radio, retail media and OOH), PR & Communications, with a brief stint in retail leasing.

What does your role Medianet involve, and what's your favourite part of the job?

I'm responsible for the acquisition of all new clients to Medianet, from first contact all the way through to client onboarding.  Clients come to Medianet from a variety of sources such as direct contact, lead generation, market intelligence, tenders, and re-engaging with old Medianet clients.  The best part of Medianet would have to be the people and culture — everyone is so passionate about the business and client success.

What's something people might be surprised to find out about you?

I have had two major careers, both VASTLY different from each other! I first spent 12 Years as Police Officer (uniform, plain clothes & task force), before transitioning into media.

What's something you learnt recently?

My son is getting closer (very close) to beating me at golf!!

What are your interests or hobbies outside of work?

Living in the Sutherland Shire you will find me in my spare time paddling on my SUP (stand up paddle board) around the south coast and/or being on one of the many golf courses in NSW — particularly those in proximity to the beach!

Medianet is the ultimate PR platform connecting you with media contacts and outlets to get your story told.
