Healthcare Australia, the leading healthcare recruiter in Australia, to acquire Randstad Care, Randstad's Health & Community Care business

Wednesday 6th May 2015

Healthcare Australia (HCA), the privately owned leading healthcare recruiter in Australia, is pleased to announce today that they are acquiring Randstad Care, Randstad’s Health & Community Care business listed on the NYSE Euronext Amsterdam Exchange.

This decision is the result of many years of a shared vision to better service the healthcare industry. The merger will allow HCA to combine the strengths of both organisations and cement its number one position in the Australian Health & Aged Care market.

Healthcare Australia’s CEO, Jason Cartwright, says that he is very excited about the multiple opportunities for internal synergies that this acquisition gives rise to.

‘The know-how and expertise of Randstad Care will be a valued addition to ours. It will allow us to add to our capacity, as well as enhance and extend our offering to better service our candidates and clients’.

‘This new addition to the HCA team will reinforce HCA’s market leader position allowing us to cover the highest combination of sub-specialties than any other healthcare provider in Australia.’

Ashley Steel, Randstad Community Care’s Director says – ‘This is an exciting opportunity for the Randstad Care team to take part in becoming the largest specialist provider in Australia. Having spent considerable time with the HCA executive team, I can confidently say that the Care teams are joining an organisation that mirrors the passion and commitment to our sector that we all possess and will be well supported in an environment where growth is driven through the passion of our people.’

In line with HCA’s strategy of long term and sustainable growth; this acquisition will allow HCA to strengthen the following key pillars of the business:
  • Rural & Remote: HCA and Randstad Care currently hold the number one and number two positions respectively in the Rural & Remote sector. The combination of these two businesses creates a clear choice for nurses and carers in what is a highly competitive market. The joined forces provide increased capacity to Australian Rural & Remote Healthcare providers.
  • Disability & Community Care: Randstad Care maintains a leading position nationally within the Disability & Community Care sector which offers an attractive opportunity for HCA to build a number one position in a sector which has recently undergone consolidation.
  • In-home support and Direct Service (Self-Funded Packages): As the Disability market in Australia moves towards the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) model, changing from block funding to individual funding, HCA views Randstad Care’s well established position in this sector as a key driver for future growth.

Details about the merger
The integration of Randstad Care into HCA will take effect early June 2015.
HCA will integrate the Randstad Care’s Rural and Remote division to their own and create a new Community Care division.
