·        Brad Chilcott is one of Australia’s most successful campaigners for social change and justice, with close to a decade’s experience leading non-government organisations.

·        Prior to his appointment, Mr Chilcott was the Founder and National Director of Welcoming Australia and has been a public advocate for mental health, LGBTIQA+ rights, international aid and education.

·        He sits on the Board of Reconciliation SA and the Advisory Board of the Community Refugee Sponsorship Initiative.

·        He was the founding Convenor of the Family and Domestic Violence Advocacy Network in South Australia.

·        Mr Chilcott commenced his role as Executive Director in June 2020 and will lead White Ribbon under the guidance of Communicare’s executive and board.

·        White Ribbon Australia is now under the stewardship of Communicare, which has been a leading community services provider in Western Australia for more than 40 years.

·        Communicare officially acquired White Ribbon Australia in May 2020 after it fell into liquidation in October 2019. With over 16 years’ experience in the provision of family and domestic violence support services, Communicare believes White Ribbon Australia remains a powerful movement that must continue to play a role in the collaborative social campaign to shift norms and affect intergenerational change.

·        Since acquiring White Ribbon Australia, Communicare has engaged its supporters and stakeholders as part of a consultation and strategic planning process to shape its direction going forward. This process found that change is needed.

·        In response, Communicare is relaunching White Ribbon Australia with a renewed focus on activating the grassroots community coalitions that exist across Australia, collaborating with frontline services, and engaging men and boys at the local level, who are essential to driving changes in social norms in relation to gendered violence.
