Philip Morris Australia recognised as a top employer by global leader

3 December 2019

Philip Morris Australia has been recognised by a global authority as a leading employer in workplace environments.

The Top Employers Institute has awarded Philip Morris Australia with an official certification as a Top Employer, Australia.

The certification comes as part of the Institute’s international research that recognises leading employers for providing excellent employee conditions, nurturing and developing talent through all levels of the organisation and striving to continuously optimise employment practices.

As well as being certified as a Top Employer in Australia, Philip Morris has also been certified as a Top Employer Asia Pacific.

The certification adds to a growing list of recognition for the efforts the company makes to create a rewarding, collaborative and diverse workplace environment, coming just months after Philip Morris International became the first global organisation to achieve equal salary certification.  During this time, Philip Morris Australia prided itself for achieving 0.9 per cent difference between what male and female employees are paid, compared to the Australian average of 14 per cent.

Earlier this year, Philip Morris Australia was also awarded the Federal Government’s Employer of Choice for Gender Equality for a fourth consecutive year.

Philip Morris Australia Managing Director Tammy Chan said the certification highlighted the value the organisation put on its people.

“Our people are our greatest asset and we want to do all we can to develop their full potential,” Ms Chan said.

“We have a bold vision for the future of our business and to achieve that we need to constantly evolve to provide the best possible workplace conditions based on emerging trends and employee feedback to achieve optimal performance.”
