WorkCover win for Hazelwood mine fire excavator operator

 

A court has ruled that the rare and life-threatening medical conditions developed by an excavator operator who carried out work at the 2014 Hazelwood Open Cut Mine fire does constitute a workplace injury, therefore he should be compensated.

 

A press conference will be held today to discuss this legal win:

 

When: Monday August 12, 2019.

Speaking: Injured worker David Briggs and his lawyer, Luke Perilli.

 

Footage showing the conditions Mr Briggs worked under during the mine fire will also be available.
