'Muslims for Humanity' take part in 'Walk for Peace'

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Australia will enthusiastically take part in #Walk4PeaceAus in Western Sydney on Sunday 2nd September 2018 to raise funds for Dementia Australia. Around 200 members are expected to attend this event. It will be a fun-filled day for all ages with participants able to either run, walk or jog the 5km track with the aim to raise $6,000.

This event is organised entirely by unpaid volunteers with no administrative costs and all the money raised will be donated to Dementia Australia NSW. This will help fund invaluable support, education and resources for people living with dementia, their carers, families and friends.

National president of Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Australia, Waqas Ahmad states: 

"We wish to support Dementia Australia in their fight against Dementia by hosting a charity walk to raise funds for this cause. Service to mankind is the essence of Islam therefore we hope this will relieve the suffering and help the needy. It’s the little steps that lead to big steps towards a better future for people affected by dementia and Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth chapter of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is delighted to contribute to this cause.”

General Manager of Fundraising for Dementia Australia, Simon Crowson states:

“Dementia Australia looks forward to working with Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association on what will surely be another outstanding event. The day will be a great way for people to come together and help raise awareness and support those impacted by dementia.

#Walk4PeaceAus will take place on Sunday 2nd September starting 8am at Tench Reserve, Jamisontown NSW
