Olympic and Paralympic athletes join AIS and Lifeline to raise awareness of mental health

 Latest statistics show a life is lost to suicide in Australia every three hours. The AIS and Lifeline Australia are launching a new partnership, assembling a team of 21 athletes from Olympic, Paralympic and Commonwealth Games sports to be the ‘Lifeline Community Custodians’. The Community Custodians will visit communities across Australia over the next year to raise awareness of mental health, lend their support to community events and share their own stories of resilience.

WHO:             Nine of the 21 athletes who will be the inaugural Community Custodians.
