2018 National Local Roads and Transport Congress heads to Alice Springs
More than 200 local government representatives from across the nation are arriving in Alice Springs for tomorrow's official opening of the 2018 National Local Roads and Transport Congress.
The 19th annual Congress, hosted by the Australian Local Government Association (ALGA), will bring together a range of transport experts to explore the event theme of Connecting Transport Networks Now and into the Future, and discuss key issues affecting roads, transport and infrastructure provision in local communities.
On Wednesday, the 2018 National State of the Assets: Roads and Community Infrastructure Report will be launched, providing up to date information on the condition of local roads assets managed by councils across Australia.
The congress is being held at the Alice Springs Convention Centre and will start at 1.45pm Tuesday.
