National Day of Action against Turnbull’s war on workers
Building and construction workers across the country will take to the streets in a series of rallies across capital cities on Tuesday, 20 June.
The day of action has been called by the CFMEU to protest the return of the ABCC and the erosion of wages, conditions and safety for construction workers.
Quotes from CFMEU Construction & General Division National Secretary, Dave Noonan:
“Enough is enough. The Turnbull Government’s building code amounts to a war on workers and we are standing up and fighting back.
“Workers around the country will join us to rally against these attacks on construction workers, the slashing of Sunday penalty rates for retail and hospitality workers, and the exploitation of overseas workers.”
Details of the rallies:
11am | Belmore Park, Sydney
10:30am | Victorian Trades Hall, Melbourne
10am | Emma Miller Place, Brisbane
12 noon | 148 Bunda Street, Civic, Canberra
12 noon | Victoria Square, Adelaide
